Lesson Plans for Teachers

The included lesson plans promote inclusive narratives of Colombia's past and present. In Colombia as elsewhere, the prevailing historical narratives are those produced by the people with most power: mainly white, Western, elite males. This has silenced the role that other groups of people have played in history. These lesson plans contribute to the transformation of the narratives we tell about ourselves as Colombians, illuminating the experiences of communities about which we have heard little or through the narratives by outsiders.
